The ANSA African Nations Cup NSW Committee Hearing Panel (Hearing Panel) has issued today a life ban from ANSA competitions to Mr B, effective immediately, after the Hearing Panel found a charge under Part 3, Clause 8 against Mr B was proven.
In accordance with the African Nations Sports Association Inc. By Laws, the Hearing Panel has the authority to consider the incident as Mr B was cited under Part 3 – Clause 8 (b)(ii).
On Thursday, 24 October 2019, the Hearing Panel convened to consider the incident involving Masudi Elongo of DR Congo and Mr B of Egypt in or around the 75th minute of the Round 2 Match between Egypt and DR Congo on Saturday, 19 October 2019.
Following an investigation, the Hearing Panel determined that Mr B committed an offence under Part 3 – Clause 8 following oral and written submissions and evidence from:
- Team Egypt (on behalf of Mr B),
- Mr Elongo
- the Match Commissioner; and
- Referee.
“The ANSA African Nations Cup Committee takes extremely seriously the fight against all forms of discrimination, especially racial vilification,” said ANSA President Bernard Muchemwa.
“For 20 years the ANSA African Cup has been a tournament to celebrate a shared and proud African heritage and unite all of us from a diverse range of backgrounds.”

Mr B has 14 days to submit an appeal of the sanction imposed by the Hearing Panel.
